Thanhouser Films. Printed by Jordison and Co., London. Florence La Badie (Mary) and James Cruze (as Joseph and Micah). This short (only a 15 minute version survives) was distributed in the UK directly by Thanhouser's London office, and filmed in an ex-skating rink in New Rochelle, NY. La Badie, shown in a sensational litho design, was a young star shooting into the stratosphere of stardom, having been in dozens of films, including classics like Zudora and Under Two Flags, before dying in a car crash in 1917, at the age of 29. James Cruz (who plays two roles) went on to become a famed director of such classics as The Covered Wagon. |
